Lost Property (2021), Dual 35mm Film, Optical Sound.
Lost Property is a film made in response to Ian Breakwells exhibition at the Arnolfini during a BEEF residency. 35mm splicing tape was applied to the floor underneath every seat of the auditorium of both the Cube and the Arnolfini. The tape collected the dust and debris which laid dormant under the seats, this was then applied directly to clear 35mm motion picture film. Each auditorium had its own roll of film which was projected via the auditorium’s two 35mm projectors and superimposed on top of each other.

Brunswick Club (2021), 16mm BW Film, Optical Sound.
Brunswick Club is an optical sound film shot during BEEF’s last days in the building. Filmed intentionally on a Super 16mm camera, allows the soundhead of the projector to interpret the right hand side of the image as audio. Close-up details of the building; such as wallpaper, carpets, light fittings and safety glass are translated into a pulsating blend of sonic shrills, putts and purrs.
